Salil Choudhury (19 November 1922 – 5 September 1995) was a legendary Indian music composer, lyricist, writer, and poet who made a remarkable contribution to Hindi, Bengali, and Malayalam cinema. Known for his unique musical style that blended Indian classical music with Western orchestration, he is regarded as one of the greatest composers in Indian film music history.

Salil Choudhury was born on 19 November 1922 in Bengal (British India). He developed a passion for music and literature at an early age. His songs, such as "Aaja Re Pardesi" from Madhumati, "Zindagi Kaisi Hai Paheli" from Anand, and "Kahin Door Jab Din Dhal Jaye" from Anand, remain timeless classics.
