Samit Gambhir
Biography
Samit was born in New Delhi, India to Ashu Gambhir. His mother worked several jobs along with bringing up Samit and his elder sister. From a very young age, he was encouraged by his mother to pursue his creative interests. To help his house he started working as a voice actor at All India Radio (AIR) from the very young age of 14.
Since then he has been involved with theater and even co-wrote and acted in a play at his school where he was felicitated with "Excellence in Acting" for his portrayal of Lord Krishna. He continued to pursue his passion for theater and Acting at Hansraj College where he was lauded countrywide for his various performances on stage and in street plays along with several awards for his theater group.
Samit, trained with several teachers many of whom are celebrated National School of Drama (NSD) and celebrated faculties as well renowned industry professionals. After adapting plays by Anton Chekhov and Rabindranath Tagore and with over 12 plays in which he co-wrote and acted as well, giving 150 performances, he finally started focusing on on-screen acting in 2017 and started with several short films and supporting roles in feature films.
After being discovered by Mukesh Chabras (MCCC) team, he will be making his web-series debut with Breathe: Into The Shadows (2020) directed by Mayank Sharma and Tandav (2020) directed by Ali Abbas Zafar (Casting by Casting Bay, Mumbai) in pivotal roles, both on Amazon's OTT platform Prime Video.
He continues to create his content on Social Media (YouTube, Instagram where he focuses on social issues and delivers mostly comedic videos that he writes, creates, and performs, all as a one-man team. Samt has quickly become a favorite among the opposite sex and continues to grow his social media footprint every day, whereas he stays focused on delivering "characters with stories which need a voice".
