Biography
Sampath Ram is an Indian actor who works primarily in Tamil cinema and is particularly known for playing villainous and supporting characters. He was born on 28 October 1970 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and has been active in the entertainment industry since 1999.
He began his acting career with the Doordarshan television series Ethanai Manithargal, where he appeared as a thug. He made his film debut with Mudhalvan (1999), playing a police sub-inspector. He subsequently appeared in numerous Tamil films, frequently portraying police officers, gangsters, henchmen, and other antagonistic characters.
After appearing in supporting roles for many years, Sampath Ram gained greater recognition for his performance in Thimiru Pudichavan (2018). He subsequently received attention for playing an aghori in Kanchana 3 (2019). He later took on a major antagonist role in Thatrom Thookrom.
His extensive filmography includes Dheena (2001), Vasool Raja MBBS (2004), Pokkiri (2007), Maari (2015), Kabali (2016), Spyder (2017), Viswasam (2019), Kanchana 3 (2019), Vikram (2022), Malikappuram (2022), Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire (2023), Thangalaan (2024), and Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1 (2025).
Sampath Ram has also worked beyond Tamil cinema, appearing in Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada films. His career spans more than two decades, with roles ranging from action-oriented antagonists to police officers and character parts.
