Biography
Sandeepa Dhar is an Indian actress, dancer, and model. The actress broke into Bollywood with the 2010 movie Isi Life Mein, which won her a lot of praise. Sandeepa is also well known for performing in the international musical West Side Story.
The Hindi film Isi Life Mein marked Sandeepa Dhar`s debut. Released on Christmas Eve in 2010, the movie also saw the debut of actor Akshay Oberoi. Sandeepa`s performance was appreciated by the fans and critics and she was nominated for several awards, including the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.
After playing a cameo in Salman Khan-starrer Dabangg 2, the actress was seen in the 2014 movie Heropanti. Later that year, she acted in the comedy movie Golla Aur Pappu, produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, whom Sandeepa signed a three-film deal with.
The year 2016 saw Sandeepa Dhar act in the action thriller Global Baba and the thriller 7 Hours To Go, both of which received mixed reviews. Her 2021 release includes Kaagaz.
Sandeepa Dhar plays the lead role of Maria in the international Australian dance musical West Side Story, which has been inspired by William Shakespeare`s Romeo and Juliet.
She is the only Indian to perform in the musical and says that she bagged the role while studying dance in Australia. As of 21 May 2016, West Side Story completed over 100 musicals across 12 countries.
