Biography

Sanjay Khan (born 3 January 1941) is an Indian actor, producer, director, and television personality who has made significant contributions to Hindi cinema and television. Known for his stylish screen presence and versatile performances, he was one of the popular leading actors of Bollywood during the 1960s and 1970s.

 

 

Born as Shah Abbas Khan in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, Sanjay Khan entered films as an assistant before making his acting debut with Dosti. He gained recognition as a romantic hero and went on to appear in many successful films.

Some of his notable films include Haqeeqat, Dus Lakh, Intaquam, Mela, Dharti Kahe Pukar Ke, Chandi Sona, and Kala Dhanda Goray Log.

 

Sanjay Khan later moved into filmmaking and directed several projects. He is especially remembered for creating and directing the historical television series The Sword of Tipu Sultan (1990), in which he also played the lead role of Tipu Sultan. The series became one of the most ambitious television productions in India at the time.

 

 

He comes from a prominent film family and is the brother of actors Feroz Khan, Akbar Khan, and Shahroz Khan. His daughter Sussanne Khan is also a well-known personality.
