Early Life and Career Beginnings
Santhosh P. Jayakumar completed his schooling at A.V. Meiyappan M.H.S.S in Virugambakkam, Chennai. He began his journey in the film industry as an assistant to director M. Saravanan, gaining practical experience before stepping into the director's chair.
He made his directorial debut in 2015 with Gaddam Gang, the Telugu remake of the acclaimed Tamil film Soodhu Kavvum (2013). This venture showcased his initial foray into direction and his ability to adapt popular narratives.
Rise to Prominence with Genre Films
Santhosh truly rose to prominence in the Tamil film industry with his unique take on the adult comedy genre. His Tamil directorial debut, Hara Hara Mahadevaki (2017), starring Gautham Karthik, became a significant talking point. He continued this trajectory with the controversial yet commercially successful Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuththu (2018), also featuring Gautham Karthik.
