He made his directorial debut with Sollamale in 1998, which was later remade in Telugu as Seenu (1999). Sasi is known for his romantic dramas as well as action films, combining emotional depth with engaging storytelling.

Career:

Romance Films (1998–2008):
Sasi gained early recognition with a series of successful romance films, including Roja Kootam (2002) and Dishyum (2006). Inspired by Thamizh Selvan’s short story Veyilodu Poi, he directed Poo (2008), casting Srikanth and Parvathy in lead roles. The film received critical acclaim for its screenplay, direction, and performances, earning awards at the Filmfare Awards South, Vijay Awards, and Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, as well as international screenings at festivals like the Los Angeles Indian Film Festival.

Action Films (2013–present):
Shifting to action, Sasi worked on Ainthu Ainthu Ainthu (555) (2013), starring Bharath, which was praised for its non-linear screenplay and storytelling. In 2016, he directed Pichaikkaran starring Vijay Antony, which became a blockbuster. He followed this with Sivappu Manjal Pachai (2019), a family entertainer featuring Siddharth and G.V. Prakash Kumar.

Sasi’s upcoming project is Nooru Kodi Vaanavil, featuring Harish Kalyan and Siddhi Idnani in lead roles. Known for blending romance, emotion, and action, Sasi continues to be a prominent storyteller in Tamil cinema.
