Biography

Satinder Chawla – Actor 
Proud son of S. Balwant Singh Ji and Pritam Kaur, Satinder Chawla was born and raised in Sagar (MP), educated at Kendriya Vidyalaya, and served 25 years at Punjab & Sind Bank before migrating to Australia in 2012. He began his journey in Melbourne Airport’s Volunteer Customer Care Program and has remained dedicated to community service ever since.

A passionate sports enthusiast, Satinder founded Landmark Community Sports Club in 2016 and is affiliated with Badminton Victoria as a coach. He has represented and promoted multicultural sports as an AFL Multicultural Ambassador for four years, a Sudhirman Cup Badminton Ambassador (2017), and a Commonwealth Games 2018 Ambassador (Gold Coast). He is a two-time gold medalist (55+ age category) at the Australian Sikh Games.

Satinder’s creative journey includes acting in over 250 projects, including 9 feature films, 40+ short films, and 24 music albums. His notable works include The Hidden Truth, Big Daddy, Karma, Foreign Flame, and Love in Melbourne. His short film Haloona won Best Short Film and earned him Best Actor at the Virasat Punjabi Film Festival, Melbourne. He also received the Best Supporting Actor award for Karma and the Best Emotional Scene award for Maa Sadke (PTC Digital Awards, 2022).Maa Sadke is now on waves channel too.

On 18th May 2025 did a screening of latest telefilm “Ek Lamba jiha hooka” in Church of Scientology auditorium and got very good response.

He has collaborated with renowned singers like Miss Pooja, Hardeep Grewal, and Sara Gurpal, and directed socially impactful films such as Parivartan – Ek Soch and Chaliya. His COVID-19 awareness efforts included producing 17 motivational and educational videos promoting safety, fitness, and vaccination.

Satinder’s modeling work includes campaigns for Toyota, Hume Council’s “I Love Hume”, and public awareness visuals across shopping centres and public transport.

With a lifelong commitment to learning, culture, and public service, Satinder Chawla continues to inspire through his multifaceted contributions to the arts, sport, and community.
