Scott Stuber is an American film producer and executive widely known for his influential roles at both a major Hollywood studio and a leading streaming platform.

 

 

 

Biography and Early Career

Born in Granada Hills, Los Angeles, Stuber attended the University of Arizona, where he graduated. His career in the film industry began at Universal Pictures, where he started as a publicity assistant. Stuber's ascent in the studio system was rapid; he eventually became Vice Chairman of Worldwide Production for Universal Pictures, a role he shared with Mary Parent in 2004. During his tenure at Universal, he was involved in major franchises and acclaimed films, including A Beautiful Mind, 8 Mile, and the Fast and Furious and Bourne franchises.

 

 

 

In 2005, he transitioned into production, signing a deal with Universal under the shingle Stuber/Parent Productions. This later became Stuber Pictures, and subsequently Bluegrass Films, which produced films such as the comedy hit Ted (2012) and Central Intelligence (2016).

 

 

 

 

Role at Netflix Films

In 2017, Stuber made a significant shift, joining Netflix to oversee the development, production, and acquisition of the company's feature film slate. He was named Chairman of Netflix Films in January 2023.

 

 

 

Under his leadership, Netflix heavily invested in original films, becoming a major player in Hollywood and a consistent contender during awards season. Key achievements during his tenure included:
