Sean Kaufman

Biography

Sean Kaufman is an American actor best known for playing Steven Conklin, Belly's older brother, in the coming-of-age romantic drama series The Summer I Turned Pretty (2022–2025).

Early Life and Education

Kaufman was born and raised in New York City and studied acting at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School before attending the Purchase College Acting Conservatory. He graduated with a BFA in Acting in 2022. He developed an interest in acting while in middle school after auditioning for a school musical.

Career

Kaufman began appearing on screen in the 2010s, with early credits including City World, Mature Young Adults, Happy Baby, Manifest, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and FBI: Most Wanted.

His breakthrough came in 2022 when he was cast as Steven Conklin in The Summer I Turned Pretty. Steven is Belly's older brother and a close friend of Conrad and Jeremiah Fisher. The role brought Kaufman widespread recognition and became the defining performance of his early career.

He later appeared in Walker and the comedy series Stumble. In 2026, he joined the cast of the science-fiction drama For All Mankind, playing Alex Poletov Baldwin.

Recent and Upcoming Work

Kaufman is set to appear in the supernatural horror film Other Mommy and is also part of the cast of The Summer I Turned Pretty: The Movie, reprising his role as Steven Conklin.
