Biography
Selva RK is an Indian film editor who primarily works in the Tamil film industry. He is recognised for his work on several critically acclaimed Tamil films and has established himself as a talented editor through his contributions to action dramas, social dramas and commercial entertainers. He developed an interest in filmmaking during his college years, where he explored directing and editing through short-film projects.
Selva RK began his professional career in the film industry as an editor and made his feature-film editing debut with Sakalakala Vallavan (2015). He subsequently worked on films such as Kaththi Sandai (2016), Ivan Thanthiran (2017) and Pariyerum Perumal (2018), gradually gaining recognition for his editing skills.
He gained wider recognition through his work on Karnan (2021), starring Dhanush, and Sarpatta Parambarai (2021), directed by Pa. Ranjith. His other notable editing credits include Maamannan (2023), Bommai Nayagi (2023), Kolai (2023), Blue Star (2024), Singapore Saloon (2024) and Thangalaan (2024).
Throughout his career, Selva RK has collaborated with several prominent Tamil filmmakers, including Mari Selvaraj and Pa. Ranjith. He continues to contribute to Tamil cinema through projects such as Vettuvam (2026), further expanding his experience as a film editor.
