Shahi Kabir
Biography
Shahi Kabir is an Indian screenwriter and film director who primarily works in Malayalam cinema. He began his film career as a screenwriter with Joseph (2018) and later wrote acclaimed films such as Nayattu (2021) and Officer on Duty (2025). He won the National Film Award for Best Screenplay for Nayattu.
Kabir made his directorial debut with Ela Veezha Poonchira (2022) and later directed Ronth (2025). His stories are particularly noted for their realistic portrayal of police investigations and morally complex characters.
His latest writing credit is Unmadham (2026), directed by Kiran Das and starring Kunchacko Boban. The Malayalam crime-mystery thriller was released on 31 July 2026.
