Shashank Udapurkar, originally trained as an electronic engineer, made a courageous transition from a small town to Mumbai, driven by his passion for storytelling and cinema. What began as a bold personal leap soon evolved into a distinguished career in filmmaking.

His most celebrated Marathi film, Prawaas, which he both wrote and directed, marked a major milestone in his journey. The film received international recognition when it was officially selected for the Indian Panorama section at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2020.
