Shekhar Suman was born on December 7, 1962, in Patna, Bihar, India. He completed his schooling in Patna and later graduated from Ramjas College, Delhi University. From a young age, he was inclined towards acting and performing arts, which led him to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.

Career in Television

Shekhar gained widespread popularity with his debut television show “Wah! Janaab” (1984). However, it was the sitcom “Dekh Bhai Dekh” (1993) that made him a household name. His role as Sameer Diwan in the show remains one of his most memorable performances.

He went on to appear in several successful television shows such as “Reporter,” “Chote Babu,” “Kabhi Idhar Kabhi Udhar,” and “Movers & Shakers.” The latter, a celebrity talk show filled with humor and satire, showcased his exceptional hosting and comic timing, earning him immense acclaim.

In 2014, Shekhar made his directorial debut with the film “Heartless”, featuring his son Adhyayan Suman in the lead role. The film explored the rare concept of anesthesia awareness and received attention for its emotional storytelling.
