Sherri Howard is an American former track-and-field athlete, actress, model, and motivational speaker. Born on June 1, 1962, in Sherman, Texas, she spent part of her childhood in Alaska before moving to California, where she emerged as one of the nation's top young sprinters. Her outstanding performances in high school earned her widespread recognition and numerous athletic honors.
Howard specialized in the 400-meter event and enjoyed a highly successful athletics career. She represented the United States at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, winning a gold medal as part of the women's 4×400-meter relay team. Four years later, she earned a silver medal in the same event at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. She also won the NCAA Championship while competing for California State University, Los Angeles.
Following her achievements in athletics, Howard pursued a career in entertainment. She appeared in television programs and films, gaining recognition for her role as Queen Isis in the movie The Scorpion King (2002).
