Shim Hyun Jung
Biography
Shim Hyun-jung is a South Korean film composer and music professional known for creating music for acclaimed Korean films and television productions. Her work combines atmospheric scoring with dramatic and emotional themes, particularly in action, thriller, horror, and suspense projects.
She is best known for composing the music for The Man from Nowhere (2010), starring Won Bin and Kim Sae-ron. Her score played an important role in complementing the film's intense action and emotional storytelling.
Shim was also involved in the music for Oldboy (2003), where she received a music-department credit and contributed to the film's musical themes.
Her other notable credits include The World of Silence (2006), A Werewolf Boy (2012), Hot Young Bloods (2014), Jo Pil-ho: The Dawning Rage (2019), The 8th Night (2021), and Connect (2022). For Connect, she was credited with music composed and produced for the six-episode series.
Shim also composed the music for Project Silence (2023), the disaster-thriller starring Lee Sun-kyun, Ju Ji-hoon, and Kim Hee-won.
