Shirine Boutella
Biography
Shirine Boutella, born 22 August 1990 in Algiers, Algeria, is an Algerian-French actress and social media personality. She grew up in Algiers and later moved to France for higher education. Before pursuing acting, she gained popularity as a beauty and lifestyle influencer on YouTube and social media.
She made her major film debut as Wassila in Papicha (2019), directed by Mounia Meddour. The film received critical acclaim and won the César Award for Best First Film.
Boutella achieved international recognition through Netflix's Lupin, where she plays Lieutenant Sofia Belkacem, a police officer investigating Assane Diop's activities. She appeared in 16 episodes across the series' first three parts.
Her other notable credits include Fugueuse, Christmas Flow, Miskina, Poor Thing, Les Fantasmes, Pamela Rose, la série, and Belphégor. She also provided the French voice of Gwen Stacy/Spider-Gwen in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023).
Boutella is also a distant cousin of actress and dancer Sofia Boutella.
