Shivani Tanksale is an accomplished Indian actress, theatre director, and writer known for her dynamic presence across stage, film, television, and digital platforms.

 

Early Life and Theatre Career

Born on October 29, 1984, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, Shivani began her acting journey during her school days at Green Lawns High School, where she participated in various plays and competitions. Her talent was recognized early on, leading her to join Nadira Zaheer Babbar's theatre group 'Ekjute'. 

 

She later collaborated with 'Q Theatre Productions', marking her professional debut with the play The Lucky Ones. Over the years, Shivani has been part of more than 30 plays, including notable productions like The President Is Coming, The Vagina Monologues, and Ji Jaisi Aapki Marzi. She has also directed plays such as Namak Mirch and The Shehenshah of Azeemo, showcasing her versatility in the theatrical realm.

 

Film and Television Career

Shivani made her film debut with Escape from Taliban (2003) and gained recognition for her roles in films like The President Is Coming (2009), The Dirty Picture (2011), Talaash: The Answer Lies Within (2012), Inkaar (2013), Happy Ending (2014), and Zed Plus (2014), where she portrayed Fauziya, Habib's wife.

 

On television, she appeared in series such as Gubbare (1999–2000), Time Bomb 9/11 (2005), and notably portrayed Divya Singhania Maurya in the Indian adaptation of 24 (2013).

 

Web Series and Advertisements

Expanding into digital media, Shivani featured in web series like Marzi (2020) on Voot, playing Isha Chauhan, and Taj: Divided by Blood (2023) on ZEE5, portraying Bakht-Un-Nissa.

 

In the advertising world, she has been a prominent face, appearing in over 40 commercials. Her breakthrough came with the Cipla i-pill advertisement in 2007, which significantly raised her profile.
