With a career spanning more than a decade, she has established herself as a versatile story, screenplay, and dialogue writer, earning appreciation for her emotionally grounded and audience-driven narratives.

 

 

Early Life and Education

Shweta Bhardwaj was born on 23 November 1984 in Chhutmalpur, a small town in Saharanpur district, Uttar Pradesh. Growing up in a modest environment, she developed a strong inclination toward literature and storytelling at an early age.

 

She completed her Master’s degree in English Literature in 2005, which laid the foundation for her narrative sensibility and command over language. Driven by a desire to work in media and storytelling, she went on to pursue a Master’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Apeejay College, Delhi, from 2007 to 2009.

 

 

Entry into the Television Industry

In 2009, Shweta Bhardwaj took a significant step in her professional journey when she was selected as a trainee writer by Balaji Telefilms. She was chosen through a campus selection program held at Apeejay College of Journalism and Mass Communication, marking her formal entry into the television industry.

Under the mentorship and structured environment of Balaji Telefilms, she gained hands-on experience in television writing and storytelling.

 

 

Professional Career

Shweta began working as a co-writer and freelance writer in 2012, contributing to various television projects. Her consistent growth and confidence as a writer led her to start working as an independent writer in 2015.

 

Since then, she has written numerous Hindi television shows, Bengali serials, and Bengali films, contributing as an independent story, screenplay, and dialogue writer. Her work is known for strong emotional depth, relatable characters, and culturally rooted storytelling.
