Silambarasan Thesingu Rajendar (STR), also known as Simbu, is a prominent Indian actor, director, playback singer, and music composer known for his significant contributions to the Tamil film industry. Born on February 3, 1983, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, Silambarasan is the son of noted filmmaker T. Rajendar and former actress Usha Rajendar. His versatility as an artist and dynamic presence on screen has earned him a massive fan following.
Career
Child Artist
Simbu made his debut as a child artist in films directed by his father, such as Uravai Kaatha Kili (1984) and Samsara Sangeetham (1989). These early roles showcased his natural flair for acting and set the stage for his eventual transition to lead roles.

Silambarasan's first lead role came with the romantic drama Kadhal Azhivathillai (2002), directed by his father.
