Singeetham Srinivasa Rao is an acclaimed Indian film director, screenwriter, producer, composer, and actor known for his innovative contributions to Indian cinema. Born on 21 September 1931 in Gudur, Andhra Pradesh, he has enjoyed a remarkable career spanning more than five decades across Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Hindi, and other film industries.

 

 

Early Life and Education

Singeetham Srinivasa Rao developed a passion for storytelling and cinema from an early age. After completing his education, he entered the film industry and worked under legendary filmmaker K. V. Reddy, gaining valuable experience that shaped his future career.

 

 

Career

He made his directorial debut with Neeti Nijayiti in 1972 and quickly earned recognition for his unique storytelling style. Throughout his career, he has directed films in a wide range of genres, including comedy, fantasy, science fiction, drama, and musical films.

 

 

Some of his most celebrated works include Pushpaka Vimana (1987), India's pioneering silent black comedy film; Michael Madana Kama Rajan (1990), a classic comedy starring Kamal Haasan; Aditya 369 (1991), one of India's earliest science-fiction films; and Bhairava Dweepam (1994), a fantasy adventure that became a major success.
