S.L. Puram Jayasurya
Biography
S. L. Puram Jayasurya is an Indian filmmaker and screenwriter who primarily works in Malayalam cinema. He is the son of veteran Malayalam screenwriter S. L. Puram Sadanandan, who was a prominent playwright and screenwriter.
Career
Jayasurya began his career as an assistant director, working on films such as Manichitrathazhu (1993) and Aniyathi Pravu (1997). He later established himself as a writer and director in Malayalam cinema.
He made his directorial debut with The Speed Track (2007), a sports drama starring Dileep, Gajala, Riyaz Khan, and Madhu Warrier. The film was also written by Jayasurya and centered on athletics and college sports.
His second film as director was Angel John (2009), starring Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran. He subsequently worked as a writer and director on Jack & Daniel (2019), an action crime film featuring Dileep and Arjun Sarja.
Jayasurya also received writing credits for films including Sachin (2019) and Chila NewGen Nattuvisheshangal (2019).
