S. Nanthagopal began gaining recognition as a film producer in the mid-2010s. He produced the romantic comedy Romeo Juliet (2015), starring Jayam Ravi and Hansika Motwani, which achieved commercial success and helped strengthen his presence in the industry.
He later produced Kaththi Sandai (2016), an action-comedy film starring Vishal and Tamannaah Bhatia. In 2018, he backed 96, a romantic drama directed by C. Prem Kumar and starring Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha Krishnan. The film received widespread critical acclaim and became one of the most celebrated Tamil films of its time for its emotional storytelling and nostalgic themes.
