S.N. Swamy
Biography
S. N. Swamy is an Indian screenwriter and director primarily associated with Malayalam cinema. He is best known for writing crime thrillers and investigative stories, particularly the CBI film series featuring Mammootty as CBI officer Sethurama Iyer.
Swamy made his screenwriting debut with Irupatham Noottandu (1987), which became a major success. He later wrote several acclaimed films, including Oru CBI Diary Kurippu (1988), Jagratha (1989), August 1 (1988), Nadodikkattu (1987), and Dhruvam (1993). His collaboration with director K. Madhu on the CBI series became one of the most notable partnerships in Malayalam investigative cinema.
He made his directorial debut with Secrets (2024), expanding his career from screenwriting into direction. Swamy is particularly respected for his ability to construct intricate mysteries, investigative narratives, and suspense-driven screenplays.
