She pursued her education in medicine, aspiring to become a doctor. However, fate had different plans for her when she was offered a role in a Kannada film while still in college. Soundarya's acting debut was in the Kannada film "Gandharva" (1992), directed by her father. Her performance caught the attention of filmmakers across the Southern film industry.
