S. P. Balasubrahmanyam was born on June 4, 1946, in Konetammapeta. He was born into a musically inclined family; his father, S. P. Sambamurthy, was a respected Harikatha artist. Although he initially pursued engineering, his passion for music led him to participate in singing competitions, where he gained recognition.
Entry into Music
SPB made his playback singing debut in the Telugu film Sri Sri Sri Maryada Ramanna, composed by S. P. Kodandapani. His melodious voice and versatility quickly earned him opportunities across various South Indian film industries.
