Biography
S. Prem Anand is an Indian filmmaker and screenwriter who has made significant contributions to Tamil cinema, particularly in the horror-comedy genre. He gained prominence with his directorial debut, DD Returns (2023), the third installment in the popular Dhilluku Dhuddu film series. The film, starring Santhanam and Surbhi, was both a critical and commercial success, grossing approximately ₹41.28 crore at the box office.
Building on this success, Prem Anand directed the sequel, Devil's Double Next Level (2025), previously titled DD Next Level. This fourth entry in the franchise features an ensemble cast, including Santhanam, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Selvaraghavan, and Geethika Tiwary. The film is scheduled for theatrical release on May 16, 2025.
Before transitioning to film direction, Prem Anand was part of Santhanam's writing team during the actor's Lollu Sabha days, which helped him develop a strong foundation in comedy writing.
