Srikanth Odela is an Indian film director and screenwriter known for his work in Telugu cinema. He was born on January 1, 1970, and grew up in Hyderabad, India. From an early age, he exhibited a passion for storytelling and filmmaking, which eventually led him to pursue a career in the film industry. ​

Career Beginnings

Srikanth began his career in the film industry as an assistant director. He worked under the guidance of established filmmakers, gaining valuable experience and honing his skills in various aspects of filmmaking. Directorial Debut: Dasara (2023)

Srikanth Odela made his directorial debut with the Telugu-language period action drama film "Dasara," released in 2023. The film is set against the backdrop of the Singareni coal mines in Veerlapalli village near Godavarikhani and Ramagundam cities of Telangana. It stars Nani, Keerthy Suresh, Dheekshith Shetty, and Shine Tom Chacko. "Dasara" received positive reviews from critics and emerged as a commercial success, grossing over ₹121 crore worldwide. ​

Srikanth's work on "Dasara" earned him several accolades. He won the Best Debut Director award at the 2024 Filmfare Awards South and the Best Director award at the 2024 South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA). The film stars Nani, Sonali Kulkarni, and Janhvi Kapoor. Set in the 1980s in Secunderabad, "The Paradise" revolves around the rebellion of an oppressed and marginalized tribe, exploring themes of prejudice, bureaucracy, and societal injustice. ​
