Biography

Srinda (born 20 August 1985) is a prominent Indian actress predominantly active in Malayalam cinema. Although she began her acting journey with Four Friends in 2010, she gained widespread recognition for her role in 22 Female Kottayam (2012), which many consider her true debut. Over the years, she has become known for her impactful performances in films like Annayum Rasoolum (2013), 1983 (2014), Kuruthi (2021), Bheeshma Parvam (2022), Freedom Fight (2022), and Aadu (2017).

Career Journey

Srinda’s academic path included schooling at St. Mary's Anglo Indian Girls High School in Fort Kochi and later Sacred Heart College, Thevara. Her early passion for cinema and photography led her to initially work as an assistant director. She also had a brief stint as a TV anchor, though she felt unfulfilled until she transitioned fully into films.

Starting with modeling assignments for hair oils and jewelry brands, she slowly made her way into the film industry. It was director Dileesh Nair who introduced her to Aashiq Abu, eventually leading to her breakthrough role in 22 Female Kottayam.

Following this, Srinda appeared in a series of notable supporting roles in films such as Thattathin Marayathu, 101 Weddings, North 24 Kaatham, and Artist. Her leading role in the 2014 sports drama 1983 won her acclaim, and she continued to take on varied roles, including a police officer in Masala Republic and memorable characters in Tamaar Padaar and Homely Meals—both released on the same day.
