S.R. Prabhu

Biography

Associated with Tamil and Telugu cinema, S. R. Prabhu has produced and distributed several blockbuster hits in both these industries. He was associated with Studio Green, an Indian film production and distribution company, which started with the 2006 Tamil romance film Sillunu Oru Kaadhal starring Suriya. 

The company then went on to produce many films like the award-winning Karthi starrer Paruthiveeran in 2007, followed by Singam, Siruthai, Alex Pandian, All in All, Azhagu Raja, Pizza II: Villa, and Madras. 

He is also associated with the production company Potential Studios, under which he produced the Aari-Nayanthara horror Maya, directed by Ashwin Saravanan. The other venture of the company was the action thriller Maanagaram, a critically acclaimed box office hit, starring Sundeep Kishan, Sri, and Regina Cassandra in the lead roles.

Prabhu founded a production company Dream Warrior Pictures in 2010 with his brother S. R. Prakashbabu, which started with the Karthi starrer Saguni, directed by Shankar Dayal. 

His next venture under this company banner was the political satire Joker, which won the Best Production Award at the Ananda Vikatan Cinema Awards 2016, followed by movies such as Kaashmora and Kootathil Oruthan. 

The company`s other 2017 venture includes the action thriller Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru, starring Karthi and Rakul Preet Singh in the lead roles. 

Based on true events, the movie is directed by Vinoth, with Karthi in the role of a cop and Abhimanyu Singh as the antagonist. His 2019 releases include NGK, Raatchasi, and Kaithi. Prabhu`s 2021 project includes Sulthan, an action-drama film directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan.
