Stephany Folsom
Biography
Stephany Folsom is an American screenwriter and producer known for her work in film and television. Raised in Colorado, she studied filmmaking at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles before beginning her career in film development and documentary production. Her original screenplay, 1969: A Space Odyssey, or How Kubrick Learned to Stop Worrying and Land on the Moon, was included on the 2013 Black List.
Folsom has written for major franchises and television projects, including Marvel's Thor: Ragnarok and Lucasfilm's animated series Star Wars Resistance. She later co-wrote the screenplay for Pixar's Toy Story 4 (2019), sharing story and screenplay credits with several members of the film's creative team.
She became closely associated with Amazon's Paper Girls (2022), serving as a writer, executive producer, and co-showrunner during the development of the television adaptation of Brian K. Vaughan and Cliff Chiang's graphic novel. She later stepped down as co-showrunner before the series premiered.
Folsom also worked as a consulting producer and writer on The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, contributing to the first season. Her career reflects a broad range of work spanning blockbuster animation, science fiction, fantasy, and television drama.
