Initially, Sudheer pursued a career in Electronics and Communication Engineering before finding his passion in the world of cinema.
Varma began his career in the film industry as an assistant director and eventually transitioned into directing. His directorial debut was the critically acclaimed and commercially successful "Swamy Ra Ra" in 2013. The film, featuring Nikhil Siddharth and Swathi Reddy, was praised for its unique storytelling style and intellectual engagement. Following this, the film was remade in Kannada as Jamboo Savari.
