Biography
Entering the filmmaking field in 1996 as a visual consultant and later working as an assistant cameraman to Santosh Sivan on Dil Se.. (1998), Suhas Gujarathi is an accomplished Indian cinematographer who primarily works in the Marathi and Hindi film industries.
He made his debut as a cinematographer in 2000 with the Marathi film Mrugjal… Ek Naslela Astitva, which marked the beginning of a steadily growing career. Suhas entered Hindi cinema with the 2006 science-fiction film Jaane Hoga Kya, showcasing his ability to handle technically demanding projects.
Over the years, he has contributed to several notable Marathi films, including Mumbai Pune Mumbai (2010), Sanngto Aika – Hear Me Out (2014), and Mumbai Pune Mumbai 2 (2015), earning appreciation for his naturalistic and visually engaging style.
In Hindi cinema, his work includes Buddha Mar Gaya (2007), Baabarr (2009), Zindagi Tere Naam (2012), Chemistry (2013), and Revolver Rani (2014). He also served as the cinematographer for the critically acclaimed Konkani musical drama Nachom-ia Kumpasar (2014), which was widely praised for its rich visual storytelling.
In 2018, Suhas worked on director Satish Rajwade’s Marathi film Aapla Manus, further strengthening his reputation in regional cinema. His 2019 project, Motichoor Chaknachoor, directed by Debamitra Biswal, added another mainstream Hindi film to his diverse portfolio.
With a career spanning decades, Suhas Gujarathi is recognized for his technical expertise, artistic vision, and consistent contribution to both Marathi and Hindi cinema, making him a respected name in Indian cinematography.
