Surilie's early years were spent in Lucknow before her family moved to Chandigarh, where her grandfather opened a school for underprivileged children.
She pursued her schooling at Yadavindra Public School in Mohali and later graduated from SD College, Chandigarh. Surilie also holds a degree in Media and Event Management from the Indian School of Media in Mumbai.
Surilie comes from a family with a strong connection to the entertainment industry. Her father, Mukesh Gautam, is a Punjabi film director, and her mother is Anjali Gautam. She has a younger brother, Ojas Gautam, and an older sister, Yami Gautam, who is a well-known Bollywood actress.
