Early Life and Education

Susan Nicole Downey was born on November 6, 1973, in Schaumburg, Illinois, United States. She developed an interest in filmmaking and entertainment while growing up and later attended the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts, graduating with a degree in cinema and television production.

Career

Downey began her Hollywood career working in film production and development. She held positions at Threshold Entertainment and later joined Dark Castle Entertainment, where she became involved in producing and developing genre films.

At Dark Castle, she worked on films such as Gothika (2003), starring Halle Berry and Robert Downey Jr., and House of Wax (2005).

She later became involved in projects featuring Robert Downey Jr., including Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005) and Sherlock Holmes (2009). Her producing career expanded significantly as she became one of the key creative figures behind projects involving her husband.

Team Downey

In 2010, Susan Downey and Robert Downey Jr. founded Team Downey, a production company created to develop and produce film and television projects. The company has been involved in several prominent productions.

One of its notable films was The Judge (2014), in which Robert Downey Jr. starred as lawyer Hank Palmer alongside Robert Duvall. Susan Downey served as a producer on the film.
