Sushin Shyam

Biography

Sushin Shyam (born 13 February 1992) is an Indian music composer, instrumentalist, and singer primarily associated with Malayalam cinema. He is also a founding member of the folk metal band The Down Trodden

 

He is known for his contributions to the films Varathan (2018) and Kumbalangi Nights (2019), Minnal Murali (2021), Bheeshma Parvam (2022), Romancham (2023) and Kannur Squad (2023). His work on Kumbalangi Nights earned him the Kerala State Film Award for Best Music Director in 2019.

 

Sushin embarked on his journey as an independent composer with the film Sapthamashree Thaskaraha (2014), for which he crafted the background score. His vocal debut was facilitated by the film Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi (2013), where he lent his voice to the song "Thaazhvaram" under the direction of composer Rex Vijayan

 

Sushin's range of work extends beyond music, encompassing acting roles in various films. Additionally, he has performed in several songs, including "Aadharanjali" from Romancham (2022), a composition of his own.
