Tae Kimura
Biography
Tae Kimura was born on 16 March 1971 in Tokyo, Japan. She is a Japanese actress who has been active in the entertainment industry since the 1990s. She initially performed in theatre and later established herself through a wide range of film and television roles.
Kimura gained recognition through productions such as Ring and Rasen, as well as films including Hana and Alice, All Around Us, Zero Focus, and Dreams for Sale. Her performance in All Around Us earned her the Best Actress award at the 32nd Japan Academy Prize in 2009.
International audiences became familiar with Kimura through Netflix's House of Ninjas (2024), in which she portrays Yoko Tawara, the mother of the Tawara family and wife of Soichi. In the series, Yoko secretly continues using her ninja skills after the family has officially abandoned its former life.
Her other notable television work includes Unfair, Hotaru no Hikari, Your Turn to Kill, My Home Hero, and House of the Owl. Kimura continues to work across Japanese film, television, theatre, and streaming productions.
