Tahir Raj Bhasin

Biography

The Delhi-born Indian actor, Tahir Raj Bhasin is best remembered for his negative role in his debut movie Mardaani opposite Rani Mukerji. His performance won him a number of nominations of which he won the Screen Awards for Best Actor In a Negative Role (Male). 

 

After his debut in 2014, the actor was seen in one of Y-Films` web series, and opposite Sonakshi Sinha and John Abraham in Force 2 in 2016.
 

 

Before making his big Bollywood debut, Tahir appeared in four short films for the Film and Television Institute of India in 2012. He was also seen in commercials for Samsung and Canon. His first movie appearance was his cameo appearance in Sanjay Khanduri`s comedy thriller Kismat Love Paisa Dilli

 

Next, he was seen in Abhishek Kapoor`s Kai Po Che! in a three-minute-long role, where he played the role of the grown-up cricketer, Ali. Following this, he was seen in the 2014 romantic comedy One by Two starring Abhay Deol and Prachi Desai.

Despite several appearances, his Bollywood debut in a lead role came with Pradeep Sarkar`s crime thriller Mardaani co-starring Rani Mukerji. The movie saw Tahir play the role of Karan Rastogi, a Delhi-based human trafficking kingpin. 

 

His performance was not only praised by the audience but was also lauded by the critics. He won several nominations for his work, including a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor, and went on to win the Screen Awards for Best Actor in a Negative Role (Male).

He has appeared in a number of short films such as Song We Wrote, The Last Day, and Gataank. He was seen paired opposite Nimrat Kaur in an episode of Y-Films` web series Love Shots. 

 

Following the success of his debut movie, Tahir was cast alongside Sonakshi Sinha and John Abraham in Abhinay Deo`s 2016 thriller Force 2, where he will again be playing a negative role. His other releases include Manto (2018), Chhichhore (2019), 83 (2021) and Looop Lapeta (2022).
