Biography
Tanmay Bhat is an Indian comedian, writer, actor, and content creator who has played a significant role in shaping the modern Indian comedy scene. Born on June 23, 1987, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, he developed an early interest in humor, writing, and performance, which eventually led him to become one of the country’s most recognized comic personalities.
Bhat began his career as a writer and performer in the Indian comedy circuit, contributing to television and live shows before co-founding the popular comedy collective All India Bakchod (AIB). Through AIB, he gained nationwide fame with the AIB Honest Series (2013), a collection of sharp, satirical sketches that redefined digital comedy in India.
Alongside sketch comedy, Tanmay has also made appearances in films such as Mr. X (2015) and 14 Phere (2021), expanding his presence beyond stand-up and online content. Known for his sharp wit and observational humor, he has also written and produced a variety of digital shows and collaborations that blend comedy with social commentary.
