Tarin Anderson
Biography
Tarin Anderson is an American cinematographer known for her work across television, feature films, commercials, and music videos. She grew up in Seattle, where she developed an early interest in filmmaking alongside her love of hiking, skiing, and the city's coffee culture.
Anderson studied film at Vassar College and Hampshire College before earning an MFA in cinematography from the American Film Institute (AFI). Her cinematography career has taken her across the United States and internationally, with projects filmed in Brazil, Argentina, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
Her television credits include the Hulu series The Other Black Girl, Amazon's science-fiction adventure series Paper Girls, the Starz series Blindspotting, and Netflix's On My Block. She also worked on Mere Mortals, the anthology spin-off of Mythic Quest for Apple TV+.
Anderson's feature-film work includes Corporate Animals, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, and We Summon the Darkness, which premiered at Fantastic Fest. Her visual work also extends to commercials for brands such as CoverGirl, Target, Honda, Dodge, Starbucks, and Disney.
As a music-video cinematographer, Anderson has collaborated with artists including St. Vincent, Maggie Rogers, Death Cab for Cutie, The Decemberists, Chris Cornell, Lenka, Joss Stone, and Young the Giant.
Based in Los Angeles, Tarin Anderson continues to work across narrative television, film, advertising, and music videos, establishing herself as a versatile cinematographer with an international body of work.
