Biography

Tarun Arora is an Indian model, actor, and producer who has worked across Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam cinema. He first gained public attention after winning the Gladrags Manhunt title and later became a familiar face through popular advertising campaigns and notable film roles, including Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi and Jab We Met.

 

 

Early Life and Modeling Career

Tarun Arora began his career in modeling while studying hotel management in Bangalore. His breakthrough came in 1998 when he won the Gladrags Manhunt contest, which opened doors to the fashion and entertainment industries. Following his win, he appeared in high-profile advertising campaigns for major brands such as Raymond, Westside, Kwality Walls, McDowell’s, and LG. He also walked the runway for several leading designers and featured in the popular music video Dil Chori by Hans Raj Hans.

 

 

Film Career

Arora made his Bollywood debut in 1999 with Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi. His first significant role came with Hawas (2004), after which he appeared in a series of low-budget and independent films, including Sheen, 19 Revolutions, Men Not Allowed, and Ghuttan.

 

In 2007, he gained widespread recognition for his role in the romantic drama Jab We Met, where he portrayed Kareena Kapoor’s former lover. The film’s commercial success brought him greater visibility and remains one of his most remembered performances. He continued working in films such as 2 and Love Guru in 2009.

 

Expanding beyond Hindi cinema, Tarun Arora earned critical appreciation for his role in the Tamil film Kanithan (2016). He further strengthened his presence in South Indian cinema by playing the main antagonist in the Telugu blockbuster Khaidi No. 150 (2017), starring Chiranjeevi. In 2019, he made his Malayalam film debut with the period action film Mamangam.
