Biography

Tatineni Satya is an Indian film director and screenwriter known for his work in the Telugu and Tamil film industries. Born into a family with a rich cinematic legacy, Satya is the grandson of T. Prakash Rao, a prominent director active from the 1940s to the 1980s, and the son of T. L. V. Prasad, a director renowned for his collaborations with actor Mithun Chakraborty. 

He completed his education in Chennai, earning a degree in visual communications from Loyola College. Satya began his career in the film industry as an assistant director to David Dhawan, working on several films, including Jodi No. 1 (2001).

 

 

 

Career Highlights

Satya made his directorial debut with the Telugu film Bheemili Kabaddi Jattu (2010), a remake of the Tamil film Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu (2009). The film, starring Nani and Saranya Mohan, was well-received for its portrayal of rural life and the sport of kabaddi.

 

He followed this success with Siva Manasulo Sruthi (2012), a romantic comedy and a remake of the Tamil film Siva Manasula Sakthi (2009), starring Sudheer Babu and Regina Cassandra in her Telugu debut. The film was noted for its light-hearted narrative and performances.

 

 

In 2016, Satya directed Shankara, a remake of the Tamil film Mouna Guru (2011), starring Nara Rohit and Regina Cassandra. The film, a crime drama, received mixed reviews but showcased Satya's versatility in handling different genres.

 

 

His 2017 project, Veedevadu (also known as Yaar Ivan in Tamil), was a bilingual action thriller starring Sachiin J. Joshi and Esha Gupta. The film, produced by and starring Sachiin Joshi, took two years to complete and opened to mixed reviews upon its release.
