Thomas Chabalier
Biography
Thomas Chabalier is a composer of Films born in Antibes, France. He graduated from Paris National Conservatoire in Jazz Performance, Paris La Sorbonne in Musicology, and Columbia College of Chicago in Film Scoring Composition. He is a laureate of the International Redbull Film Scoring Competition and the European Talent Competition.
He has worked with directors and producers all over Europe, the US, and Asia in Films, trailers, advertisements, and video games. He has developed a unique melodic and lyrical sound that features his voice as a composer.
While performing as a jazz player and composing for various ensembles, Thomas started scoring movies, trailers, and advertisements in France, Germany, and the United States. One of his early films, "The Wheel of Emotions," was selected at the Cannes Film Festival in the Cinefundation program in 2015.
In 2016, Thomas was awarded 1st prize at the International Red Bull Media Portfolio Film Scoring Competition for his hybrid composition, melding electronics with strings and voices. A few months later, his orchestral score for an animated movie called "The Little Thing" won the Film Score Award at the European Talent Competition in SoundTrack Cologne.
