Biography
Toheeb Jimoh is a British-Nigerian actor, born on April 15, 1997, in Brixton, London, England. He spent part of his childhood in Nigeria before returning to London and later trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, graduating in 2018.
Jimoh began his screen career with appearances in Lia (2015) and London Kills (2019). He subsequently played Marcus in the Amazon series The Feed and portrayed Anthony Walker in the BBC television drama Anthony (2020), a fictionalized account imagining Walker's life had he survived a racist attack.
His breakthrough came with Apple TV+'s comedy-drama series Ted Lasso (2020–2023), in which he played Sam Obisanya, a talented Nigerian footballer who becomes an important member of AFC Richmond. His performance earned him a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, while the cast also received Screen Actors Guild recognition.
In 2021, Jimoh appeared in Wes Anderson's The French Dispatch as Cadet #1. He then starred as Tunde Ojo, a Nigerian journalist who documents the global transformation caused by women's newfound electrical powers, in Amazon's science-fiction series The Power (2023).
Jimoh has also maintained a strong connection with theatre. He played Romeo in a 2023 production of Romeo and Juliet at London's Almeida Theatre and later portrayed Hal in Player Kings, a stage adaptation of Shakespeare's Henry IV plays.
His more recent screen work includes Kwabena Bannerman in the HBO/BBC drama Industry, with his 2026 credits including the series Clarissa.
