Travis Beacham
Biography
Travis Beacham is an American screenwriter, producer, and director, best known for his work in science fiction, fantasy, and genre storytelling. He graduated from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts School of Filmmaking in 2005.
Beacham gained early attention with his screenplay A Killing on Carnival Row, which was selected for the 2005 Black List and later became the foundation for the fantasy television series Carnival Row. The series, starring Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne, ran from 2019 to 2023, with Beacham serving as its creator and executive producer.
He wrote the screenplay for Clash of the Titans (2010) and went on to develop the story for Pacific Rim (2013). He co-wrote the latter with director Guillermo del Toro, creating a world centered on giant monsters known as Kaiju and enormous combat robots called Jaegers.
His other credits include Dog Days of Summer, Hieroglyph, Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams, Pacific Rim: Uprising, and the audio drama Impact Winter. He also made his directorial debut with the science-fiction short film The Curiosity in 2016.
Beacham is particularly recognized for his imaginative world-building and his ability to combine fantasy, science fiction, mystery, and human drama. His work on Pacific Rim and Carnival Row established him as a prominent writer of large-scale genre stories.
