Troy Evans

Biography

Troy Evans (born February 16, 1948) is an American actor best known for his roles in television dramas and a wide range of feature films. He has built a career portraying authoritative, often law-enforcement or military characters, bringing a commanding presence to both small and big screens.

 

 

Biography

Evans was born in the United States and served with the 25th Infantry Division in Vietnam, an experience that later informed some of his acting roles. After returning from military service, he pursued a career in acting, drawing on his real-life experiences to lend authenticity to his performances.

 

 

Career

Evans gained recognition for his role as Desk Clerk Francis “Frank” Martin on the long-running medical drama ER. More recently, he appeared as Detective II Johnson (nicknamed “Barrel”) in Amazon’s crime series Bosch. His television work also includes a role as SFC Bob Pepper in China Beach, a series set during the Vietnam War.

 

 

In film, Evans has appeared in numerous productions, including Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Under Siege, Teen Wolf, Kuffs, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Black Dahlia, Demolition Man, The Frighteners, Tiger Cruise, View from the Top, and Article 99. He also lent his voice to the character Thistle Jinn in the 2013 animated film Epic.
