TSR Srinivasan
Biography
Srinivasan initially worked in the textile industry in Tiruppur, but over time, he became disillusioned due to heavy workloads, trade restrictions, financial difficulties, and recurring losses. During the 1990s, he also worked as a restaurant franchisee. Inspired by his passion for reading, he developed an interest in acting and decided to pursue a career in cinema.
In interviews, Srinivasan has shared that his reading habits motivated him to explore new opportunities in the film industry. At the start of his acting journey, he earned only around ₹200–300 per film and accepted minor and uncredited roles to gain experience. He also spent time waiting in casting queues in search of acting opportunities.
He appeared as a crowd artist in films such as Idhayam (1991) and Aranmanai (2014). His breakthrough role came with Sethupathi (2016), where he portrayed an investigation officer, earning recognition for his performance.
