Biography
Ty Burrell is an American actor, comedian, and producer, born on August 22, 1967, in Grants Pass, Oregon. He studied acting at Southern Oregon University and later earned an MFA from Pennsylvania State University. He began his professional career with theater performances before moving into television and film.
Burrell appeared in films such as Black Hawk Down, Dawn of the Dead, National Treasure: Book of Secrets, The Incredible Hulk, and Morning Glory. He also worked in television, appearing in series including Out of Practice and Back to You.
His breakthrough came in 2009 when he was cast as Phil Dunphy in the sitcom Modern Family. His humorous and warm performance earned him two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, in 2011 and 2014.
Burrell has also voiced characters in animated films including Mr. Peabody & Sherman, Finding Dory, and Storks. He later starred in the animated series Duncanville and continued working as a producer and voice actor.
