Uhm Ki-joon (born March 23, 1976) is a versatile South Korean actor renowned for his extensive work in musical theater, television dramas, and films. Standing at 180 cm, he graduated from Seoul Arts College and is currently represented by Your Entertainment.

 

Early Career and Musical Theater

Uhm Ki-joon began his acting journey in 1995 with the stage play Richard III. He gained prominence in the musical theater scene, delivering notable performances in productions such as Singin' in the Rain, The Sorrows of Young Werther, Grease, The Three Musketeers, Jack the Ripper, The Count of Monte Cristo, Catch Me If You Can, and Rebecca. His portrayal in these musicals showcased his exceptional singing and acting abilities, solidifying his reputation in the theater community.

 

Transition to Television

In the mid-2000s, Uhm transitioned to television, initially taking on supporting roles in dramas like Life Special Investigation Team, Worlds Within, Hero, Dream High, Scent of a Woman, and Phantom. His compelling performances led to leading roles in series such as Good Job, Good Job and The Virus.

 

He is particularly acclaimed for his roles in I'm Not a Robot (2017–2018), The Penthouse: War in Life (2020–2021), and Little Women (2022). In The Penthouse, he portrayed the main antagonist Joo Dan-tae, a scheming real estate mogul, earning widespread recognition for his portrayal of complex villainy.

 

Film Appearances

Uhm's film debut came with Man of Vendetta (2010), where he played the antagonist opposite Kim Myung-min. He continued to showcase his versatility in films like Killer Toon (2013), portraying a detective investigating serial murders.

 

Throughout his career, Uhm Ki-joon has received numerous accolades, including:

Personal Life

In May 2024, it was announced that Uhm Ki-joon would marry his non-celebrity partner in December. The couple tied the knot on December 22, 2024, in Seoul.
