P. Jayachandran, widely known by his pen name Unni R., was born on 12 April 1971 in Kudamaloor, located in the Kottayam district of Kerala, India. He grew up in a culturally rich environment that nurtured his interest in literature and storytelling.
He completed his early education at Kudamaloor LP School and CMS College High School, later continuing his studies at CMS College, Kottayam, and Baselius College, Kottayam. His academic journey played an important role in shaping his literary sensibilities.
